When Islamists made their roots south of the border...

When Islamists made their roots south of the border...

Venezuela's dictator: H. Chavez that “sees” only money, oil and Anti-Americanism-Power, does “serve” the Islamic Iranian Republic well, giving out passports to anyone.

From that “port” it is quite easy for an Islamic Iranian AGENT to arrive into any other Latin American country as a... “Venezuelan”.

A “random” different case (of a Muslim trying to “blend” into Latin America), a year ago, a Jordanian Arab that “met” a Costa Rican (Tica) girl in Spain (she vouched for him in CR, as this man came from the area in Jordan where a visa is required in Costa Rica), eventually he came into CR with a (so called) British passport, luckily for one eye that saw something about that Arab that it didn't make sense (how poor his English was...), the British embassy was contacted and sure enough, it appeared that it was a fake passport, the Jordanian Arab flew from Jordan to France, then took the train from France to England (where the passport was “made”), from there to Spain, from Spain to CR, and no one saw anything suspicious until he got into CR.

Some dry facts:

Any person can become immediately a “Panamanian” citizen if he/she deposits $150,000 in the bank, Panama “appreciates” the “investor” in the country which is why: Japan, China, etc. don't respect much a Panamanian passport.

The Arabs on the borders:

The borders between: Venezuela (in itself has already a great Lebanese representation in Caracas, Margarita, etc.) - Colombia is saturated by Arab (Lebanese, mainly in Macao, though traditionally most Arabs there are not Muslim, that has changed lately, more so there's a growing sympathy and help - Muslims get from “non-Muslim” Arabs).

Panama - Costa Rica, there are many Arabs living in northern Panama (Chiriqui, stores in David) and in Southern Costa Rica, in fact even the grocery on the border is by a “Palestinian” Arab...

Paraguay-Brazil-Argentina, this tri-area border has been already on CIA’s list for years as a heavy Hezbollah operated illegal activities and sources of funding terrorism.

Bloody Sunday: Hezbollah Causes Deaths of 60 women and Children Using Residence as Human Shield

"Why are they killing us? What have we done?" >asked Khalil Shalhoub as he witnessed his brother's remains being removed from the building in Qana, Lebanon after Israeli aircraft bombed the building suspected to be shielding rocket launchers directed at Israel. 120 such rockets were fired at Israel today.

Fox News reports that at least 56 were killed in the attack, mostly women and children.

It's a sad and tragic event which should never have happened. And it's one that is likely to fit into the plans of those who wish to condemn Israel and push for a ceasefire that preserves Hezbollah's military capacity. The same military capability which violates every previous agreement intended to bring peace to the troubled region.

Ever since the crisis began, Mike's America has pointed out how Hezbollah has used the civilian population and U.N. peacekeepers as human shields. They deliberately choose to attack from these positions and then are first to raise the cry of "massacre" or "war crime" when unintended deaths occur. We've reported the statement from U.N. Humanitarian Chief Egeland who denounced Hezbollah for "this cowardly blending ... among women and children...I heard they were proud because they lost very few fighters and that it was the civilians bearing the brunt of this. I don't think anyone should be proud of having many more children and women dead than armed men."

Video Evidence Of Hezbollah Rockets Shielded by Civilian Residences

If you haven't seen the video from the Israeli Defense Forces showing the launching of rockets directly behind a large building in the area near Qana, it is here. It's an older video and apparently not the building which was struck today, but a nearby site which does illustrate how Hezbollah launches rockets from behind a large building to avoid detection.

The chart at right illustrates the course of rockets fired from Qana. The Israeli Defense Forces also has a further video showing how Hezbollah hides rockets in civilian targets.

More Questions: No Fighters Killed in Qana?
Reporters at the site of this tragedy report that it took many hours for them to reach the scene. They were not given any opportunity to investigate, photograph or videotape obvious military targets or dead Hezbollah fighters.

Prior to the strike in Qana, Israel took steps to warn the civilian population that strikes in this area were likely and warned them to leave. This is the same precaution they followed prior to their incursions into both Southern Lebanon and Gaza. These efforts include dropping of leaflets, phone calls to residences in affected areas and loudspeakers in some cases. Vital Perspective posted a copy of one of the leaflets warning that Israeli strikes were imminent.

From reports at the scene, survivors of the Qana attack complained that they were unable to leave, that the roads were "blocked." Yet reporters had no trouble getting to and from the scene.

More Questions

Unfortunately, the resources of the Israeli Defense Forces are more focused on fighting and winning on the ground in Lebanon and Gaza. But the propaganda war is being lost as the world sees images of dead children and only later considers the cause.

As we wait for more information, one thing is clear: this tragedy would not have occurred if Hezbollah has been disarmed. Furthermore, this tragedy would not have happened if Iran and Syria had not provided Hezbollah with the weapons, training and funding to attack Israel. Finally, none of this would be happening if the world demanded the same level of accountability and respect for innocent civilians from Hezbollah that they require of Israel.

Answering Khalil Shalhoub's question: "Why are they killing us? What have we done?" I would say: You have allowed Hezbollah to rearm and attack Israel. If you valued peace more than war, you would not have done so.

And Khalil: Mike's America readers may recall another "Bloody Sunday" 23 years ago when Hezbollah killed 241 U.S. Marines sent to Lebanon as peacekeepers. Isn't it past time you held Hezbollah accountable for the "cycle of violence?" Blaming everyone else for your problem hasn't worked too well has it?

Update: The research department at Flopping Aces has found a number of other links to the videos mentioned above and more. A number of these are provided by Vital Perspective, a collection of which can be found at You Tube.

Vital Perspective also reminds us that the deliberate placement of weaponry in a civilian area is a violation of the Geneva Conventions. Will we now hear all the bleeding heart lefties who moan about our benevolent treatment of homocidal terrorists at Guantanamo now take up the call about war crimes by Hezbollah? Don't hold your breath!

And just for the record, Flopping Aces linked to this video at the end of which you can clearly see ambulances with UN markings being used to transport Hamas terrorists in Gaza away from the fighting.

And some people say that Israel is committing "war crimes"?

___

Islamists to Zionists: 'We'll make SURE our kids die, so we can murder yours!'

Israel's war of not hitting Arab civilians VS Islamists FOR it.

Since the bluff of Islamists supposedly having "issue" just keeps being exploded in their faces with each "one way" concession by the Zionists to the "never sattisfied" Arabs, more so when the Zionists gave Gaza land to the "Palestinians" and the "Palestinians" immediately responded only to continue their crimes with even less shame, overwhelmingly gave the region and to the world the gift of: electing officially the terrorists of Hamas to be their leaders.

They never can justify their killing of civilians, intentionally, how do they combat with this most honest most human and moral basic question ever?

So they came up with a plan, how to make sure their kids die, Hamas actually masterminded it, to use own kids as human shields, either firing with machine guns behind the "little stones throwers", or firing from among their families.

But great humane Israel (Israel VS Evil), can't stomach even collateral damage, so they try always to warn the residents of an operation coming so that they should evacuate.

That is of course extremely costly, since such warnings, whether in Gaza or in Lebanon are chasing the terrorists away as well, but beautiful Israel is willing to sacrifice so much to spare Arab children that their adults hate so much but love for them to be killed on the altar of "public relation" and that "victim-hood" so sacred for the dirty Islamists.

If you want to see the deeper picture, (not only the true vs. exaggerated fake photos, just exposed on Reuters, etc. but) the real picture of Israel VS. Islamists.

Israel fights so mighty hard to AVOID civilian casualties on EITHER side, Islamists fight for the GREATER MASSACRES of CIVILIANS even on Arab Muslim side, since it serves their purpose of: "you see? Zionists are killing civilians too, they are not much better", so they can go ahead with what they always want, to massacre all non Muslims, especially the Israelis.

Death and destruction are Hezbollah's goals
By Andrea Levin | August 8, 2006
SOMETIMES basic facts get blurred in a fierce, image-filled conflict such as the one spawned by Hezbollah's July 12 cross-border attack in which Israeli soldiers were killed and others kidnapped while a rain of rockets descended on homes and fields. An unprovoked act of war, this Hezbollah assault followed 19 others since May 2000, when Israel pulled out from a security zone in southern Lebanon that had been created to protect against earlier terrorist incursions. In response to those first 19 incidents, Israel had essentially held its fire.
What does Hezbollah, with some 10,000 katyushas and other long-range missiles, really want? Some say Israel's pullout from south Lebanon was incomplete (though fully certified as complete by the United Nations) and that handing over Shebaa Farms would quiet the Iranian-funded Jihadist group. But as a New Yorker story noted, even Hezbollah spokesman Hassan Ezzeddin admitted: ``If they go from Shebaa, we will not stop fighting them. Our goal is to liberate the 1948 borders of Palestine." What he means, of course, is the destruction of Israel.
Genocide seems to be the goal. This too may be lost when media focus centers on Israel's retaliation for aggression and its army's advance against Hezbollah fighters dug deep into the Lebanese hills. But listen to the words of the group's leaders and consider the relentless message of Al-Manar, the organization's richly funded satellite television network that reaches tens of millions around the world and is designated a terrorist entity by the US State Department.
Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah describes being asked whether ``the destruction of Israel and the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem were Hezbollah's goal," and replying: ``That is the principal objective of Hezbollah." He terms Israel ``an illegal state; it is a cancerous entity and the root of all the crises and wars. . ."
On Al-Manar television, Jews are termed pigs and monkeys and the Holocaust is denied. Participants in a network-sponsored symposium urge that Israel ``be completely wiped out" and ``just like Hitler fought the Jews" the ``great Islamic nation of Jihad" should ``fight the Jews and burn them."
In May, Nasrallah appeared on the network to explain that ``our nation's willingness to sacrifice their blood, souls, children, fathers, and families" is an advantage over the Jews ``who guard their lives." (All translations by the Middle East Media Research Institute.)
This blunt admission too should be remembered in the rush of reports; for there is, indeed, a crucial difference in valuing human life, whether Israeli or Arab. The innocent Lebanese behind whom Hezbollah gunmen wantonly shelter, knowingly inviting Israel's defensive return volley, have surely been sacrificed. And not by their own choice. One news report told of Hezbollah murdering a Lebanese man who sought to flee the fighting and escape being used as a human shield. Lebanese citizens, especially Christians, speak of rage at Iran and Syria for the ruin of their country caused by Hezbollah's proxy militia and of helplessness at the hands of the armed thugs.
Many in the Lebanese Christian diaspora, beyond the reach of Hezbollah intimidation, speak out even more forcefully against turning Lebanon into a Shia theocracy emulating Iran.
Israel has, in fact, tried to `"guard" the lives of Lebanese civilians, dropping warning leaflets and announcing ahead its intention to target missile launchers, explosives, and gunmen. In contrast, Hezbollah fills its katyushas with lethal ball bearings to spread death and suffering as far and wide as possible
.
A Boston native, David Lalchuck, was killed just days ago by this weapon as he rushed to safety from tending a kibbutz orchard. He was only the latest American to die at the hands of Hezbollah. Two-hundred-and-forty-one were killed in 1983 by a Hezbollah truck bomb at the US Marine barracks in Beirut. The Marines were part of a peace-keeping force. Until 9/11, Hezbollah had kidnapped, hijacked, tortured, and murdered more Americans than any other terrorist group.
The Great Satan and the Little Satan -- America and Israel -- are the obsession of Hezbollah, Iran, Al Qaeda, and other Islamic fascists. Closing our eyes to their brutality only assures more innocent lives will be lost before the threat is overcome.

Blame the Terrorists, Not Israel!
THE HEZBOLLAH and Hamas provocations against Israel once again demonstrate how terrorists can exploit human rights and the media in their attacks on democracies. By hiding behind their own civilians, the Islamic radicals issue a challenge to democracies: Either violate your own morality by coming after us and inevitably killing some innocent civilians, or maintain your morality and leave us with a free hand to target your innocent civilians. This challenge presents democracies such as Israel with a lose-lose option and terrorists with a win-win option.

“U.S. Officials: Hezbollah Training Iraqi Shiite Militia Group“ Tuesday, November 28, 2006
Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed group in Lebanon that warred with Israel this summer, has been training militant Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's militia both inside Iraq and in Lebanon, senior White House and intelligence officials confirmed Tuesday. The confirmation came after the New York Times reported that a senior intelligence official said that some 1,000 to 2,000 Shiite fighters had been trained in Lebanon by Hezbollah, which also is backed by Syria. Click here to view the New York Times article. President Bush, who is in Europe to attend a NATO summit, expressed concern Tuesday that Iran and Syria are both attempting to destabilize Iraq. "The Iranians and the Syrians should help — not destabilize — this young democracy," Bush said. Bush continued to express his administration's reluctance to talk with Iran and Syria on the grounds that the two nations have been unhelpful in efforts to achieve Middle East peace.

...The Return of a Superterrorist (Most Dangerous Besides Osama = MUGNIYAH)

Feb. 5, 2007 issue - Before Osama bin Laden, there was Imad Mughniyeh. The Lebanese terrorist from Hizbullah was considered the most dangerous in the world. Now the White House worries that he's back, after years of lying low. Four serving U.S. intel and counterterrorism officials, anonymous when discussing sensitive material, said Mughniyeh is prominent in recent reporting from the field about Hizbullah activity. Bruce Riedel, a veteran Mideast expert recently retired from the CIA, told NEWSWEEK there is "no question he is heavily involved in [formulating] terrorist contingency plans in case of a U.S.-Iran confrontation."
Mughniyeh has the résumé to be a potent threat. He was the alleged organizer of a series of devastating bombings and kidnappings against U.S. targets in Lebanon during the 1980s, including two bombings of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. But Hizbullah later made a strategic decision to abandon attacks on American targets. Even now, U.S. intel officials stress that they don't believe Hizbullah will actually hit U.S. interests unless Washington strikes first—against either the movement or its key patron, Tehran.
So what is Mughniyeh up to? Two of the U.S. officials interviewed by NEWSWEEK said field reports indicate that he travels between Beirut, Damascus and Tehran. One official said that some reports also suggest he has visited Baghdad. (Hizbullah has allegedly been involved in training the Mahdi Army militia of Moqtada al-Sadr.) (EXCERPT...) read more at:

The cheap Arabist film: “The Visitor”

The cheap Arabist film: “The Visitor”

Re: the film ’The Visitor’ – http://pajamasmedia.com/phyllischesler/2008/06/16/help-the-vistor/.

----

A. Victimhood It is a total reaffirmation of “we Arabs are always innocent victims”.

B. Fake grace ‘Mouna’ (mother of “Tarek”) is a “bad” actress, trying so hard to pose as “gracious”, she does a terrible job in convincing, she never really projects it, but rather as a time-bomb, waiting to explode every minute.

C. Arabs don’t need to apologize… Richard Jenkins, playing “Walter”, the American professor who all-of-a-sudden falls in love in Tambor-drumming, apologizes again and again for the FED’s arresting ‘Tarek’, an illegal immigrant, especially when he has been deported, he apologizes helplessly to Tarek’s mother for US’ (so called) “treatment”…, yet you don’t hear any apology from Tarek or his mother for what Arabs did to Americans that caused Americans to be wary of Arab immigrants more than of any other immigrants…

D. Arab or African? Somehow an Arab (”Tarek”: Haaz Sleiman) stars in African type of (drumming) music, how come? Is this an attempt to “dress” Arabs as Africans, thus alienating some Africans (those carrying a grudge) against whites?

E. Why come? If Arabs hate it over here, Why still come and immigrate, legally or illegally? And what is the big “horror” played in the film for a LEGAL deporting of an illegal alien anyway (you hear that phrase “it’s unfair”, again and again, making sure you hear that ‘Arabs have issues’…)?

By the same token it avoids the tale of terrible corruptive and cruel governments such as Syrian, “Palestinian”, etc. where they are running from…

F. Stupidity, ‘Tarek’ tries to argue that “I am not a terrorist, terrorists are well connected and protected“… what kind of argument is that? Besides, there are Arab terrorists who are loners, or those well connected but pose as loners… in order not to expose their contacts.

G. An immigration issue? Another apparent attempt of alienating is posing “Tarek” as an “immigration” issue, thus another effort is being made by Arabism (the divider) to gather some Latinos’ support against mainstream America.

The War on the War on Islamic terror – False racialization of fear of terror

The War on the War on Islamic terror – False racialization of fear of terror

A writer elaborates on: Antisemitism, Islamophobia and Anti-Arabism: The False Link [1], In the wake of 9/11, opponents of profiling have shifted away from arguing against it because it is “racist”, but experts argue that Racial profiling: A matter of survival [2], the Arab world and some of the Arabists (inside and outside Israel) have categorized many Israelis’ genuine concern for their saftey and saftey of their children as “racism”. [3], at the UN’s Durban 2 conference, in on going major attempt to categorize ‘counter-terrorism’ as ‘Islamophobia’, Pakistan’s Islamic group wanted to include even more language to equate counter-terrorism with racism. Pakistan, Algeria, and Iran also wanted the words, “Islamophobia” and “anti-Arabism” to remain in the document. [4]

Terrorism: Islamists threaten terror attacks in Germany

Berlin, 22 April (AKI) - The Al-Qaeda linked Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan on Wednesday released a video threatening the "criminal" German government and citizens of the Jewish faith, according to German media.

In the video, the third released this year, shows a man identified as "Commander Mohammad", who criticises the presence of German troops in Afghanistan.

The man accuses "the sons of Germany of being in the service of the Jews" unlike "Granddad Hitler".

Investigators believe the video's release may be linked to a major Islamist terrorism trial which opened on Wednesday at a high-security court in the northwestern German city of Duesseldorf .

In the trial, three Germans and one Turkish national are accused of planning a series of simultaneous bomb attacks against discos and pubs and the United States airbase in Ramstein and against Germany's Federal Prosecutor's Office.

Two of the German suspects are converts to Islam while the third is a German citizen of Turkish descent. They face charges of belonging to a terrorist organisation, plotting murder, and conspiracy to conduct a bomb attack.

The trial is expected to last one to two years. If the defendants are found guilty, they could face prison terms of up to 15 years.

Prosecutors claimed the men were planning to use about 10 times as much explosives as were used in the deadly July 2005 attacks on London transport that killed 56 people and injured thousands.

The plot was at an advanced stage and the attacks could have killed over 50 people, according to police.

Around 300 German federal agents were involved in monitoring the cell for several months, before police swooped in on the group in what was one of Germany's biggest anti-terror operations to date.

Three of the defendants were arrested in the Germany's western Sauerland region and the fourth was arrested in Turkey and extradited to Germany in November last year.

Prosecutors say the four men belong to a little-known group called the Islamic Jihad Union with roots in Uzbekistan and ties to Al-Qaeda.

Chilling terror video released on internet Islamist extremists threaten attacks on Germany

By Einar Koch

A chilling new terror video which warns of attack on Germany has been posted on the internet by Islamist extremists.

The video, created by the Islamic Movement Uzbekistan (IBU), has been released to mark the start of the trial of alleged terrorists in Düsseldorf.

In the short film, a man identified as 'Commander Mohammad' criticises Germans and Jews and slams the country's “criminal government”.

He said: "Your grandfather Hitler killed the Jews, but today your sons are in the service of the Jews."

Scenes from the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York also appear on the video.

The video - the third one this year to aim threats at Germany - comes from a group supposedly linked to the al-Qaeda terrorist network.

Two weeks ago, an Uzbek website posted a video featuring Moroccan Islamist Albu Ibraheem, who is already well known to security services, which also contained images glorifying 9/11.

According to the security services, this video is a call to radical Islamists, mostly Turks, living in Germany.

There are concerns that an attack in Germany is being planned. State secretary August Hanning said: “We are making preparations.”

The terror trial, which starts today, is the biggest Germany has seen and will take place under strict security measures.

Four suspected terrorists from the Islamic Jihad Union are to appear before the court. They are accused of planning car bomb attacks in Germany’s largest cities.

The BFV security service is concerned about the increasing number of militant Islamists coming into Germany having attended training camps.

Major Islamic massacre by twin suicide bombing in Iraq - Diyala province with the capture of Leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq: Abu Omar al-Baghdadi

Major Islamic massacre by twin suicide bombing in Iraq - Diyala province with the capture of Leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq: Abu Omar al-Baghdadi

Iraq Suicide Bomb Attacks Kill or Injure Almost 200 (Update1)

By Caroline Alexander and Ali Sheikholeslami

April 23 (Bloomberg) — Two suicide bombings in Iraq left almost 200 people dead or injured, including Iranian Shiite Muslim pilgrims, as Iraqi security forces announced the arrest of al-Qaeda’s leader in the country.

There were at least 105 casualties among six busloads of Iranians targeted at a roadside restaurant in Diyala province as they traveled to a shrine in Karbala, Iran’s state-run Fars news agency said without providing details. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani’s Patriotic Union of Kurdistan said 70 were killed or wounded, while Agence France-Presse put the death toll at 45.

While violence has ebbed in the country as a whole after a surge in U.S. troops and as Sunni Muslim insurgents turned against al-Qaeda, the bombings highlight the fragility of the country’s security. There were no immediate claims of responsibility for today’s attacks.

In Baghdad, 31 people died, including 10 police officers, and 51 were hurt in a bombing in a square in the center of the capital, Fars said, citing the city’s police commander. A female suicide bomber carried out the attack, detonating her explosives belt in a crowd of civilians and Iraqi security forces in the Karradah neighborhood, the PUK said.

The al-Qaeda leader was captured by Iraqi security forces in Baghdad’s al-Risafa district, the PUK said on its Arabic- language Web site, citing security spokesman Major General Qassim Atta, who declined to provide further information.

Sunni Insurgents

Shiite pilgrims have frequently been targeted by Sunni insurgent groups, in incidents that Iraqi government officials say are aimed at stoking sectarian violence. Today’s attack on pilgrims is one of the deadliest assaults on Shiite worshippers in Iraq since 149 people were killed in March 2007 while heading to Karbala in buses and on foot. That was among the worst attacks since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Iraqi security officials identified the al-Qaeda leader captured today as Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the PUK said. The Interior Ministry said in March 2007 that its forces had arrested al-Baghdadi, a claim it later retracted. In July 2007, the U.S. military said al-Baghdadi never existed.

Analysts have said Abu Omar al-Baghdadi may be a title invented by al-Qaeda to give any non-Iraqi leader of the group in Iraq an identity that would promote acceptance in the country. Last year al-Arabiya television identified al-Baghdadi as Hamid Dawoud al-Zawi. Fars today identified him as Abdullah Rashid Saleh, saying he was born in Baghdad in 1947 and went to Afghanistan in 1987 to meet with Osama bin Laden.

What a world:: Racist Arabs & Islamic bigots call the victims of their racism - ”racists”

What a world:: Racist Arabs & Islamic bigots call the victims of their racism - "racists"

Forget the fact that Israel is multi-racial for all colors from the whitest of white to the darkest of black, whereas Arab countries (including "Palestinian" authorities") asides from oppressing all non-Arab minorities, are almost entirely "judenrein", but in democratic Israel, an Arab can get the highest office!
But the brazenness of Arab racism not only fails to admit of it's racist war on Jews/Israel since the 1920's, but it brands Israel's defense FROM it as "racist".

[Racism of] Killing Jews in Israel a young Israeli student at Hebron University was gunned down while jogging through a mixed neighborhood of Jews and Arabs. The al Aqsa Brigade, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yassir Arafat's Fatah movement, joyously claimed credit for the killing of yet another innocent Jew. When it was later learned that the jogger was an Arab-Israeli and not a Jew, al Aqsa quickly apologized to the family, calling it an accident. But the killing of the innocent young jogger was not an accident; the murderer had deliberately taken aim at his head and midsection, intending to end his life. The only thing accidental about the murder was the religion of the victim. The al Aqsa Brigade had sent the assassin to murder a Jew - any Jew, so long as he was a Jew.
This is racism, pure and simple. And despite efforts by supporters of Palestinian terrorism to justify the murder of innocent civilians as national liberationor by any other euphemism, this case proves that the Palestinian terrorists targeting of Jews and only Jews - as many as possible - is little different in intent than other forms of lethal or exterminatory anti-Jewish murders (I dont use the term anti-Semitic only because some Arabs claim that because they too are Semites, they cant be anti-Semitic). Obviously the numbers are different, because Israel is capable of defending its Jewish citizens, but if it were not, the goal of Palestinian terrorist groups would not be very different from that of previous groups intent on murdering as many Jews as possible. http://www.israelnewsagency.com/israeljewsracismdersh130112.html

If justifying the murder of innocents because they belong to a certain hated group is not abject racism, I'd like to know what is.

Regardless of the facts that most Palestinian Arabs are children or grandchildren of immigrants from surrounding middle eastern countries, the term "occupation" has been used by Arab leaders to wage genocidal wars since the 1960's, never mind that the racist attacks on Jews started long before that 1960's occupation excuse, in the 1920's in particular (with clear declarations of "driving all Jews into the sea, "Itbach al Yahud" - AKA Kill Jews, wiping off map, you name it) .

America’s Earliest Terrorists

Lessons from America’s first war against Islamic terror.

December 16, 2005, 9:55 a.m.

By Joshua E. London

At the dawn of a new century, a newly elected United States president was forced to confront a grave threat to the nation — an escalating series of unprovoked attacks on Americans by Muslim terrorists. Worse still, these Islamic partisans operated under the protection and sponsorship of rogue Arab states ruled by ruthless and cunning dictators.

Sluggish in recognizing the full nature of the threat, America entered the war well after the enemy’s call to arms. Poorly planned and feebly executed, the American effort proceeded badly and at great expense — resulting in a hastily negotiated peace and an equally hasty declaration of victory.

As timely and familiar as these events may seem, they occurred more than two centuries ago. The president was Thomas Jefferson, and the terrorists were the Barbary pirates. Unfortunately, many of the easy lessons to be plucked from this experience have yet to be fully learned.

The Barbary states, modern-day Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, are collectively known to the Arab world as the Maghrib (”Land of Sunset”), denoting Islam’s territorial holdings west of Egypt. With the advance of Mohammed’s armies into the Christian Levant in the seventh century, the Mediterranean was slowly transformed into the backwater frontier of the battles between crescent and cross. Battles raged on both land and sea, and religious piracy flourished.

The Maghrib served as a staging ground for Muslim piracy throughout the Mediterranean, and even parts of the Atlantic. America’s struggle with the terror of Muslim piracy from the Barbary states began soon after the 13 colonies declared their independence from Britain in 1776, and continued for roughly four decades, finally ending in 1815.

Although there is much in the history of America’s wars with the Barbary pirates that is of direct relevance to the current “war on terror,” one aspect seems particularly instructive to informing our understanding of contemporary Islamic terrorists. Very simply put, the Barbary pirates were committed, militant Muslims who meant to do exactly what they said.

Take, for example, the 1786 meeting in London of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, the Tripolitan ambassador to Britain. As American ambassadors to France and Britain respectively, Jefferson and Adams met with Ambassador Adja to negotiate a peace treaty and protect the United States from the threat of Barbary piracy.

These future United States presidents questioned the ambassador as to why his government was so hostile to the new American republic even though America had done nothing to provoke any such animosity. Ambassador Adja answered them, as they reported to the Continental Congress, “that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Sound familiar?

The candor of that Tripolitan ambassador is admirable in its way, but it certainly foreshadows the equally forthright declarations of, say, the Shiite Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in the 1980s and the Sunni Osama bin Laden in the 1990s, not to mention the many pronouncements of their various minions, admirers, and followers. Note that America’s Barbary experience took place well before colonialism entered the lands of Islam, before there were any oil interests dragging the U.S. into the fray, and long before the founding of the state of Israel.

America became entangled in the Islamic world and was dragged into a war with the Barbary states simply because of the religious obligation within Islam to bring belief to those who do not share it. This is not something limited to “radical” or “fundamentalist” Muslims.

Which is not to say that such obligations lead inevitably to physical conflict, at least not in principle. After all peaceful proselytizing among various religious groups continues apace throughout the world, but within the teachings of Islam, and the history of Muslims, this is a well-established militant thread.

The Islamic basis for piracy in the Mediterranean was an old doctrine relating to the physical or armed jihad, or struggle.

To Muslims in the heyday of Barbary piracy, there were, at least in principle, only two forces at play in the world: the Dar al-Islam, or House of Islam, and the Dar al-Harb, or House of War. The House of Islam meant Muslim governance and the unrivaled authority of the sharia, Islam’s complex system of holy law. The House of War was simply everything that fell outside of the House of Islam — that area of the globe not under Muslim authority, where the infidel ruled. For Muslims, these two houses were perpetually at war — at least until mankind should finally embrace Allah and his teachings as revealed through his prophet, Mohammed.

The point of jihad is not to convert by force, but to remove the obstacles to the infidels’ conversion so that they shall either convert or become a dhimmi (a non-Muslim who accepts Islamic dominion) and pay the jizya, or poll tax. The goal is to bring all of the Dar al-Harb into the peace of the Dar al-Islam, and to eradicate unbelief. The Koran also promises rewards to those who fight in the jihad, plunder and glory in this world and the delights of paradise in the next.

Although the piratical activities of Barbary genuinely degenerated over the centuries from pure considerations of the glory of jihad to less grandiose visions of booty and state revenues, it is important to remember that the religious foundations of the institution of piracy remained central.

Even after it became commonplace for the pirate captains or their crew to be renegade Europeans, it was essential that these former Christians “turn Turk” and convert to Islam before they could be accorded the honor of engagement in al-jihad fil-bahr, the holy war at sea.

In fact, the peoples of Barbary continued to consider the pirates as holy warriors even after the Barbary rulers began to allow non-religious commitments to command their strategic use of piracy. The changes that the religious institution of piracy underwent were natural, if pathological. Just as the concept of jihad is invoked by Muslim terrorists today to legitimize suicide bombings of noncombatants for political gain, so too al-jihad fil-bahr, the holy war at sea, served as the cornerstone of the Barbary states’ interaction with Christendom.

In times of conflict, America tends to focus on personalities over ideas or movements, trying to play the man, not the board — as if capturing or killing Osama bin Laden, for example, would instantly end the present conflict. But such thinking loses sight of the fact that ideas have consequences. If one believes that God commands something, this belief is not likely to dissipate just because the person who elucidated it has been silenced. Islam, as a faith, is as essential a feature of the terrorist threat today as it was of the Barbary piracy over two centuries ago.

The Barbary pirates were not a “radical” or “fundamentalist” sect that had twisted religious doctrine for power and politics, or that came to recast aspects of their faith out of some form of insanity. They were simply a North African warrior caste involved in an armed jihad — a mainstream Muslim doctrine. This is how the Muslims understood Barbary piracy and armed jihad at the time, and, indeed, how the physical jihad has been understood since Mohammed revealed it as the prophecy of Allah.

Obviously, and thankfully, not every Muslim is obligated, or even really inclined, to take up this jihad. Indeed, many Muslims are loath to personally embrace this physical struggle. But that does not mean they are all opposed to such a struggle any more than the choice of many Westerners not to join the police force or the armed services means they do not support those institutions.

Whether “insurgents” are fighting in Iraq or “rebels” and “militants” are skirmishing in Chechnya or Hamas “activists” are detonating themselves in Israel, Westerners seem unwilling to bring attention to the most salient feature of all these groups: They claim to be acting in the name of Islam.

It is very easy to chalk it all up to regional squabbles, economic depression, racism, or post-colonial nationalistic self-determinism. Such explanations undoubtedly enter into part of the equation — they are already part of the propaganda that clouds contemporary analysis. But as Thomas Jefferson and John Adams came to learn back in 1786, the situation becomes a lot clearer when you listen to the stated intentions and motivations of the terrorists and take them at face value.

Sally Rovers incident, at the height of North African Arab Muslim pirates’ crimes against Christians, mainly British

Britain’s 200-year jihad

On my travels for the past few days, I have been reading a book which tells the story of a quite astonishing part of British history of which I was previously unaware. In ‘White Gold’, Giles Milton records the appalling details — gleaned,it appears, from a wealth of historical documents including diaries and letters — of a seaborne Islamic jihad against Britain which lasted for no less than two centuries.

From the early seventeenth to nineteenth centuries, thousands of British men women and children were kidnapped by Arab corsairs and sold into slavery in Morocco where they were kept in conditions of unspeakable barbarism. The astounding thing is that these British victims were not merely seized at sea where they ran the gauntlet of such pirates in places such as the Straits of Gibraltar. They were actually abducted from Britain itself.

Corsairs from a place in Morocco called Sale — who became known in Britain as the ‘Sally Rovers’ — sailed up the Cornish coast in July 1625, for example, came ashore dressed in djellabas and wielding damascene scimitars, burst into the parish church at Mount’s Bay and dragged out 60 men women and children whom they shipped off to Morocco. Thousands more Britons were seized from their villages or their ships and dispatched to the hell-holes of the Moroccan slave pens, from where they were forced to work all hours in appalling conditions building the vast palace of the monstrous and psychopathic Sultan, Moulay Ismail, who tortured and butchered them at whim. Most of them perished, but the book records the survival of a tenacious Cornish boy Thomas Pellow, who survived 23 years of this ordeal and whose descendant, Lord Exmouth, finally ended the white slave trade when he destroyed Algiers in 1816.

The book makes clear that this assault upon the British people (and upon Europeans and Americans who were similarly seized) was a jihad. The Sally Rovers, writes Milton, were called ‘al-ghuzat’– the term once used for the soldiers who fought with the Prophet — and were hailed as religious warriors engaged in a holy war against the infidel Christians who were pressurised to convert to Islam under threat of hideous punishment. What is even more striking was the response of the British crown. For almost two centuries, it made only the most ineffectual attempts to rescue its enslaved subjects. Those who had succumbed to the torture and inhumanity of the Sultan and converted to Islam were deemed to be no longer British and therefore outside the scope of any rescue. The pleas of Pellow’s parents were simply brushed aside. Popular outrage forced successive Kings to dispatch a series of feeble emissaries to try to get the Sultan to end this vile traffic and release the slaves, all to no avail.

But this went on for virtually two centuries. For almost 200 years the British state either sat on its hands or wrung them impotently while the Islamic jihad seized, enslaved and butchered its people. And then it appears, this staggering onslaught was all but airbrushed out of our history.

Food for disquieting thought.

‘Pirates of Penzance’ redo? James Zumwalt

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Soon after winning independence from England, the United States faced another war. Muslim pirates operating off North Africa’s Barbary Coast were seizing U.S., as well as European, ships sailing in international waters, holding them for tribute payment or plunder.

In 1786, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, meeting in London with Tripoli’s Muslim ambassador to Britain, inquired as to the reason for such Arab hostility. Acknowledging their attacks were unprovoked, the Tripoli ambassador explained it was their right and duty under the Koran as faithful Muslim followers to plunder and enslave the unfaithful - with those Muslims dying in the process going to paradise. To stop the attacks, the United States initially agreed to pay the Barbary pirates tribute, equal to about 20 percent of government revenues. Only later did an indignant United States launch two wars against them, ending in victory in 1815 and no further payments. European nations, acting individually and collectively, suppressed pirate activity as well, with the French conquest of Algiers in 1830 providing the last nail in the Barbary Pirates’ coffin.

Today, Muslim pirates again sail the seas off Africa’s coast. Mostly Somalis, these pirates have already attacked more than 60 ships this year in the vicinity of the Gulf of Aden - almost 5 times more than occurred all last year. Pirates gain confidence as owners prove willing to pay ransoms for the safe return of ships and crews, much like the United States first did with the Barbary Pirates.

Madrassa: Breeding ground of Jihadists

Madrassa: Breeding ground of Jihadists

Modern Ghana - ‎Mar 30, 2009‎ By Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury

When I for the first time forecasted that Madrassa was becoming breeding ground of Jihadists, many of my fellow journalists instantly raised their fingers at me saying, I was serving the purpose of ‘foreign interest’. Policymakers in the government were even much aggressive in bringing sedition, treason and blasphemy charges against me. They tried to give justification to such actions saying, my criticizing the Madrassa and forecasting the rise of Islamist militancy within such institutions; I was hurting the sentiment of Muslims and was doing harm to Islam!

Ridiculous indeed!

In this article, I will discuss many of the unknown and untold facts on Madrassas in the world, along with some very exclusive investigative information on such religious schools.

Muslims consider Madrassas as the basic place of generating clergies as well as those who can be the custodians of Islam in the respective countries. But, many are still unaware that in the name of religious education, major segment of such Madrassas are active as breeding ground of Jihadists. Instead of real Islamic education, the students are taught of religious hatred. Their brains are filled with the poison of hate towards everyone who is not a Muslim. Moreover, the very old notion of ‘killing Jews and Christians’ and remaining a good Muslim is very strong planted in the minds of thousands of students of such institutions.

For past several years, I have done extensive investigation into the Madrassa education system and the Qaomi [Koranic] Madrassa in Bangladesh as well as studied extensively on such religious schools around the world and each of my inquisitive investigations finally ended in identifying growth of radical and militant Islam right within the 64,000 Qaomi Madrassas in Bangladesh, as well others within the Islamic and non Islamic world.

Although people are always putting focus on Madrassas involvement in breeding Jihadists, they are yet to investigate the inside stories in Madrassas, where male and female students are sexually abused by the clergies on a regular basis. Sodomy is a growing phenomenon in the Madrassas, and according to various reports, silent spread of HIV and Aids is gradually putting a huge blanket on the large number of students and teachers coming of such institutions.

Terrorism and rise of radical Islam is a global problem. Islamic terrorism [also known as Islamist terrorism or Jihadist terrorism] is religious terrorism by those whose motivations are rooted in their interpretations of Islam. Statistics gathered for 2006 by the National Counterterrorism Center of the United States indicated that “Islamic extremism” was responsible for approximately 25% of all terrorism fatalities worldwide, and a majority of the fatalities for which responsibility could be conclusively determined. Terrorist acts have included airline hijacking, beheading, kidnapping, assassination, roadside bombing, suicide bombing, and occasionally rape.

According to some experts, Perhaps the most resonant incident of Islamic terrorism was the 9/11 attack on the United States. Other prominent attacks have occurred in Iraq, Afghanistan, India, Israel, Britain, Spain, France, Russia and China. These terrorist groups often describe their actions as Islamic jihad [struggle]. Self-proclaimed sentences of punishment or death, issued publicly as threats, often come in the form of fatwas [Islamic legal judgments]. Both Muslims and non-Muslims have been among the targets and victims, but threats against Muslims are often issued as takfir [a declaration that a person, group or institution that describes itself as Muslim has in fact left Islam and thus is a traitor]. This is an implicit death threat as the punishment for apostasy in Islam is death under Sharia law.

The controversies surrounding the subject include whether the terrorist act is self-defense or aggression, national self-determination or Islamic supremacy; the targeting of noncombatants; whether Islam ever could condone terrorism; whether some attacks described as Islamic terrorism are merely terrorist acts committed by Muslims or nationalists; how much support there is in the Muslim world for Islamic terrorism; whether the Arab-Israeli Conflict is the root of Islamic terrorism, or simply one cause.

Osama bin Laden is the millionaire son of a construction magnate. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Bin Laden’s deputy, is a medical doctor. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaida in Iraq was an uneducated street thug who converted to a radical form of Islam in prison. Recently we saw a female Belgian convert to Islam become a suicide bomber in Iraq. It is difficult to identify what such people have in common other than a willingness to kill — and sometimes to die — for a cause they are convinced is right. No study has so far been able to explain why some people become terrorists and others don’t. Socio-psychological factors and questions of identity seem to be important and the dynamics of various cults have some striking parallels to terrorist cells. One thing we frequently see in the trajectory of terrorists is a conversion experience that occurs within a small, tight-knit group. The dynamics of such groups tend to reinforce personal conviction, especially among individuals whose other social networks have frayed or can’t match the intensity of bonds forged in what is for them an existential struggle.

Often the group is led by a ‘charismatic figure’ such as a ‘jihad veteran’, or jihad entrepreneur who raises funds and recruits for jihad. Such groups are found in many contexts, from prisons to social clubs. Often they are associated with a mosque, but generally they do not hold meetings in the mosque itself. Also the internet is playing a role in this conversion by exposing people to extremist views and the possibilities presented by jihad.

Many of the members of such cells have little history of extremism — or of piety. The most pious are not necessarily those most likely to become terrorists. Indeed, one could argue that for some people it is their poor understanding of Islam — and for the young suicide bomber, perhaps even their naivety — that has made them susceptible to extreme views.

Some analysts have argued that the root causes of terrorism lie not with the psychology or life experience of the individual but with deeper underlying political and economic currents. These root causes are variously listed as poverty, underdevelopment, un-employment, the demography of youth bulges, Palestinian dispossession and so forth.

These so-called ‘root causes’ are relevant but they do not go to the heart of the issue. First, there is the obvious fact that many terrorists are middle class or even from elites. Social studies of terrorists show that they are generally better educated than the broader population.

Secondly, terrorism is not limited to developing countries: look at the history of terrorism in developed democracies such as the United Kingdom. Finally, behind talk of root causes there is an assumption that they are somehow more real than the terrorists’ self-proclaimed motivations, that economic factors are more solid than ideology or identity. But as the protests over the Danish cartoons showed: issues of belief, identity and culture are just as real as material ones for many Muslims, and may well drive the emotions of many even more strongly.

That said, dysfunctional economies and authoritarian political systems magnify feelings of frustration and anger which, in turn, provide fertile soil for those who manipulate questions of identity and victim hood in the cause of violent jihad.

Since 9/11 the nature of the terrorist threat has changed. It has become more decentralized and amorphous. Al Qaida is still an active threat even if it has not been directly responsible for any major attack for the past two years. Al Qaida is fighting a war that it believes will last for generations. It has not given up its goal of conducting catastrophic attacks in the United States. We should not forget that eight and a half years passed between the first and second World Trade Centre attacks, and that the relative failure of the first attack seems to have acted more as an incentive than a dampener.

One of Al Qaida’s ‘achievements’ has been to draw many groups and Jihadists out of their local struggles and focus them on the ‘far enemy’. Zawahiri, now Al Qaida’s chief ideologist, himself moved from a local, Egyptian preoccupation to a global, anti-US ideology. And the story of Jamaah Islamiyah in Indonesia is about the transformation of a group which grew out of a national Islamist movement — Darul Islam — and has gone on to adopt the global Jihadist view of Al Qaida and others.

The terrorist threat today is best understood as a network of networks.

Sometimes the groups and cells that make up this extended network are held together by formal alliances — the best example is the alliance between core Al Qaida and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s Al Qaida franchise in Iraq. But most often the links are informal, based on personal contacts. Surprising to some as it may seem, Al Qaida does not exercise command and control over this extensive network. Continued

More revelations on Arab Palestinians fake “victimhood” - Israel’s Gaza toll far lower than Palestinian tally (Pallywood, Jeninitis)

Israel’s Gaza toll far lower than Palestinian tally

Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:56am EDT

JERUSALEM, March 26 (Reuters) - Israel says far more armed fighters and far fewer Palestinian civilians were killed during its 22-day offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip in January than reported in widely-used Palestinian figures.

In the first Israeli death tally to appear in an official publication since the Dec 27-Jan 18 war, it said a total of 1,166 Palestinians were killed, not 1,417 as reported by Palestinian human rights activists.

The figures were contained in a briefing paper issued by the public affairs department of the Israeli embassy in London on Wednesday (http://london/mfa/gov/il). They were later confirmed in a press release by the Israeli army.

The tally says 295 civilians lost their lives — about a third of the figure of 926 reported by Gaza’s Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (www.pchrgaza.org), which published a full list of names earlier this month.

The army statement, citing data gathered by its research department, said its count was based on “the names of Palestinians killed”. It said at least 709 of the dead in Gaza were armed militants, not 236 as reported by the Palestinians.

The Palestinian group said “255 police and 236 fighters” died in Israeli bombing and shelling — a total of 491.

Israel has made clear it regards police under the control of the Islamist Hamas rulers of Gaza as the equivalent of armed fighters.

The Israeli embassy paper said the “degree of involvement” in the armed conflict of a further 162 killed in its offensive was “still under investigation”. The army statement said they are “162 names of men that have not yet been yet attributed to any organisation”.

It did not say how the list of names was obtained.

DIED NATURALLY

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights on Thursday reaffirmed its own figures, saying “extensive investigation and cross-checking .. determined that a total of 1,417 Palestinians died in the offensive” of whom 926 were civilians, including 313 children and 116 women.

The group’s Hamdi Shaqoura told Reuters the centre took a long time and employed great efforts to research the numbers and identities of Palestinians killed.

“We have the numbers and the names of the victims. The process was very well and carefully researched and our numbers reflected the truth,” he said.

“International law regards policemen who are not engaged in fighting as non-combatants or civilians,” he added.

An Israeli security source said the army’s research made clear “about a quarter” of those killed were uninvolved in the fighting “and that’s relatively low on any scale” for conflict in an urban environment.

The source suggested that the Palestinian count may have included death by natural causes during the period, which he said statistically would account for approximately 400 deaths.

Shaqoura said Palestinian researchers made sure not to include deaths caused by “internal events” or natural deaths.

He added: “When speaking about Israeli people, Israel regards all people under 18 years of age as children. But when speaking about the Palestinians Israel lowers the age to 16, in order to provide a cover for its army.”

The central aim of the Israel embassy briefing paper was to reject charges of war crimes by Israeli forces in Gaza from human rights groups.

Human Rights Watch said this week Israel’s use of white phosphorus shells over densely populated Gaza areas was evidence of war crimes, and United Nations investigators said Israel had targeted civilians. Israel rejected both charges.

The embassy paper said there was so far no adequate ethical code of war “to regulate the war on terror” in which “amoral” adversaries flouted the rules of war and used human shields with total indifference to human suffering.
